How It Works

Overview
Industry executives interested in acquiring a company or participating in a management buyout can contact the site adminstrator by e-mail or phone to start the process.  MBO Executive carrys out a candid one-on-one discussion with potential MBO Executives to discuss the management buyout (MBO) or acquisition process.  This preliminary discussion explains the transaction process, how to work with a private equity capital provider, the timeline and the typical milestones involved in an MBO or acquisition.  Executives can explore their options without jeopardizing their current employment, business situation, or a potential deal they are pursuing.  There is no binding commitment from either party during the preliminary discussion and everything must be kept completely confidential.

Executives With Deals
The ideal scenario is an executive or executive team that has a company lined up for acquisition and is seeking an equity partner to facilitate the transaction.   In this situation, the  deal 'Review Process' occurs immediately, if the deal and team are qualified, the executive team and deal are moved to a matching process within the network.

Executives Seeking Deals
Our private equity participants review 25 to 40 potential transactions a week across a range of industries.   Often times, there may be a live deal that they are currently reviewing which is a match with an inquiring executive or teams experience.  Some private equity firms will also execute a proactive search on behalf of an executive.  There may also be an opportunity within a current portfolio company of one of the private equity participants.  In these situations, the combination of a company and an experienced team can create significant value for all parties as they pursue a live opportunity together.

Other Roles For Executives
Executives may also ask to be entered into a deal matching database that will be used to match them to future deal opportunities.  Executives in the database may choose to be considered for other roles as well.  Private equity firms need board members for their portfolio companies, operating partners, diligence partners, industry advisors and other non day-to-day assistance from experienced industry professionals.
